I so believe that I lead a mundane life.
June 10, 2006
Somehow or other, my mind seems to come to a blank whenever this page where I type my entry loads, even though I've got alot of things to blog about.
I have been thinking about things these few days again. Someone may call me SD-ing again, and I don't deny that. But its not as bad as before. Its more of a self reflection session done when I'm all alone in the silence of the night. I admit that I do think about certain things very often, even for the same old things, and I can't seem to explain why is that so.
I've been put on top of the world before, and have been thrown to the deepest of pits within a few days after being at the top of the world. I had been badly affected by it, but I guess I've already snapped out of everything more or less. So I guess its true that whatever that doesn't kills you only makes you stronger.
So putting that aside, I saw a scene that sort of irked me yesterday at the john little warehouse sale. If you still don't know, john little's having a warehouse sale at Singapore Expo Hall 4. I was there doing some shopping with my mum and sisters, and since I've already gotten myself my white shirt and black shirt (for graduation and work respectively), I went over to the lingerie section (yes the lingerie section) to look for my mum and sisters. While I was busy searching for my mum and sisters, I saw a couple. The guy's carrying the petite girlish handbag for the girl on one hand, and lingerie on the other. If the guy was willing and offered to carry it for the girl, I would've got nothing to say. But the girl was picking the lingerie, and forcing the guy to hold it for her. And when he did so (i guess reluctantly), she started giggling and said something like "A big guy holding lingerie. Hahaha."
I think a survey has been done quite some time back regarding guys carrying the handbags of girls, and I don't have much to comment regarding that aspect. I agree that its sweet for a guy to offer to carry it for her other half, but if he carries one unwilling due to unreasonable demands from the girl, then I think its somewhat demeaning to the dignity of the guy. Ok, it may sound a little too harsh on the demeaning of dignity part, but you guys (especially the guys) should get the drift right?
As for the comment from the girl after the guy took the lingerie, I think I need not say anymore. If I were the guy, I would've just walked out coz I think its a total insult to me as a person and that I'm not getting the most basic form of respect that a person should have.
